53. Austrian Adult Education Television Awards presented

Adult Education Television Award goes to three ORF productions and Okto-TV.

The presentation of the 53rd Adult Education Television Awards for 2020 took place this year on September 17, 2021 at the RadioKulturhaus in Vienna.

The jury - representatives of print media, representatives of the Conference of Adult Education (KEBÖ) and a representative of science - had to choose from 17 productions nominated for the award.

The awards were presented by representatives of the awarding associations of the Conference of Adult Education (KEBÖ) - Erich Wagner-Walser for the ARGE Bildungshäuser, Michael Sturm for the Berufsförderungsinstitut, Markus Feigl for the Büchereiverband Österreichs, Martina Bauer for the Forum Katholischer Erwachsenenbildung, Gerald Pfabigan for the Rural Continuing Education Institute, Georg Primas for the Ring Österreichischer Bildungswerke, Daniela Schratter for the Verband Österreichischer Gewerkschaftlicher Bildung, Lukas Laurin Oppermann for the Volkswirtschaftliche Gesellschaft and John Evers for the Verband Österreichischer Volkshochschulen.

Discussion programs/talk formats category:

Antina Zlatkova and Thomas Lindermayer (program directors), Ivana Veznikova (moderator) for Okto-TV's program "Sign Language" from the series Perspective Change.

Category Documentation:

Lisa Gadenstätter (broadcast designer) for the ORF-DOK 1 special production "Are We Racists? - The Test"

Television Film Category:

Mirjam Unger (director), Eva Testor (screenplay and camera) and Klaus Lintschinger (ORF editorial staff) for the ORF rural crime thriller "The Girl from the Mountain Lake"

Broadcast series category:

Irina Oberguggenberger (responsible for broadcasting/editorial management) for the ORF knowledge program "Fannys Friday".

This year's Axel Corti Award went to ZiB2 presenter Lou Lorenz-Dittlbacher for her excellent research and background reporting and for her persistent and critical interviewing, which contributes significantly to an entertaining, substantial and high-quality news experience.
