#ebcamp remains popular exchange platform
The barcamp on digitalization in adult education, which now takes place purely online, continues to offer adult educators an opportunity to exchange ideas, discuss, ask questions and (re)meet colleagues.
In a total of 16 sessions (= self-determined discussion rounds), the main topics discussed were artificial intelligence, blended learning, e-learning, self-study courses and online learning platforms.
Interest in AI is unbroken
The previous Barcamp had already shown great interest in AI topics, which was also unbroken this time. The continued interest and commitment of the participants underlines the relevance of artificial intelligence in various areas of application in adult education.
The participants exchanged tips for effective AI prompting and discussed strategies on how providers can achieve a successful AI strategy. In addition to the general session on "What are we losing through digitalization?", there were also very specific discussions on the advantages and disadvantages of AI. Further discussion rounds focused on experiences with AI-generated learning materials and learning platforms such as Articulate, Udemy, etc. There was also a discussion about which AI tools are currently being used and what potential they offer.
Blended learning and e-learning as perennial favorites
The terms "blended learning" and "e-learning" may seem "old school" next to high-tech AI, but they are as relevant as ever. The topic of how to successfully combine face-to-face learning and e-learning is still a hot topic: How best to combine them? In what proportions? Which tools work best? Is hybrid still an issue? What can the future look like?
Other exciting topics and captured knowledge
Other exciting sessions were held on topics such as "The voice in the digital space" and "Reflection on the online barcamp method". A large part of the content of all sessions was documented in publicly accessible minutes. If you would like to read them, take a look at the bifeb website.
Outlook: #ebcamp remains a fixed starter
The #ebcamp team is delighted that the event, which offers a platform for exchanging experiences on digitalization in adult education, continues to be very popular. The next round will therefore take place in 2025: #ebcamp25 will take place from May 5-6, 2025.
