Adult education television awards presented online
Adult education television awards ceremony went online. Due to Corona, there was no ceremony for the presentation of the awards this year. The presentation took place in person and was recorded. The video can now be watched online on YouTube HERE. Our chairman Erich Wagner-Walser gave the opening speech this time.
Multiple awards at the Adult Education Television Award: Director and screenwriter Gabriela Zerhau and ORF editor Julia Sengstschmid were honored for the television film "Ein Dorf wehrt sich". ORF editor Robert Gokl received the prize for his documentary "Auf Wiedersehen Mama, auf Wiedersehen, Papa" from the ORF series "Menschen & Mächte".
The jury prize named after Axel Corti was awarded to former ORF reporter Friedrich Orter.
ORF Director General Dr. Alexander Wrabetz: "It is great for ORF and for me personally, but moreover also for the Austrian media landscape, that once again the quality and added value of public service products have been honored with the Television Award. ORF and its journalists prove every day anew what public service journalism should and must be able to do: Demonstrate diversity and independence, maintain authenticity and factual accuracy, and deliver quality in terms of both craftsmanship and content. Only a public broadcaster like ORF can provide these services in this diversity. On behalf of ORF, I congratulate all the award winners and am especially pleased about and for this year's Axel Corti Award winner, the deserving ORF journalist Fritz Orter."
Congratulations to all award winners and nominees!
