Television Prize for Adult Education

The ‘Television Prize for Adult Education’ is awarded to Austrian productions or co-productions that are of particular value to adult education in terms of content and form (artistic design and television-appropriate presentation).

The ‘Television Prize for Adult Education’ is awarded in four categories:

  • Discussion programmes and talk formats
  • documentaries
  • Television film, series, fiction, docu-fiction, edutainment
  • Broadcast formats, programme series

At the request of the jury, the award-sponsoring associations created a ‘Jury Prize’ for the first time in 1996, which is awarded in addition to the four category prizes. This jury prize has been called the Axel Corti Prize since it was awarded in 1997.

Following discussions with the former ORF directors Johannes Kunz and Wolfgang Lorenz and in agreement with the ORF public relations department, the award ceremony has been organised in a new, more attractive form since 1994, which is technically far more complex, so that the support of the ORF is required.

The prize is awarded by KEBÖ.
