ERASMUS+ MOBILITIES

Educational trips for individuals and groups funded by
Erasmus+

The European Union offers employees and learners in educational institutions the opportunity to take part in funded educational trips, known as “mobilities”, through the Erasmus+ programme.

The programme offers the opportunity to gain experience in other European countries, acquire new skills and promote
intercultural exchange. The aim is to strengthen the quality of education and training and to promote innovation and European cooperation.

This page presents the various opportunities offered by
Erasmus+ mobility programme.

Important note: ARGE BHÖ can only fund staff and learners from its member organisations.

Overview

What is possible?

Job Shadowing

Want to look over the shoulders of colleagues in adult education centres across Europe? That’s possible through job shadowing! Participants can observe colleagues at a host institution during their daily work, learn new practices, exchange ideas, and gather inspiration.

Courses and Training

Participants can benefit from a course or similar type of training delivered by professionals based on a predefined learning programme. Attending an Annual Conference, such as the EAEA conference, also falls into this category. Note: It must be an interactive event (i.e., not limited to listening to lectures, speeches, etc.).

Teaching and Training Assignments

Participants can teach or deliver training to learners at a host organisation abroad for a
certain period. This allows them to learn by carrying out their tasks and by exchanging with others.

Invited Experts

Organisations may invite teachers, trainers, policy experts, or other qualified professionals from abroad who can contribute to improving the teaching, training, and learning experience in the hosting organisation.

Learner Mobility

It’s not only staff from adult education centres who can go abroad for learning experiences — adult learners can be mobile too!
Learners are course participants in adult education centres.

Individual Mobility: Adult learners can improve their knowledge and skills through a stay abroad at a host organisation.

Group Mobility (2+ learners): A group of adult learners can spend a certain period of time in another country to take part in innovative learning opportunities, jointly organised by ARGE BHÖ and the host organisation (participation in commercially available training services is not supported).

Particular support is provided for learners with fewer opportunities. “Fewer opportunities” include disabilities, health problems, barriers linked to educational and training systems, as well as cultural, geographical, social, or economic obstacles, and barriers related to discrimination. This opportunity may be especially relevant for participants in basic education courses.

Erasmus+ Goals

The ARGE BHÖ has set goals for the Erasmus+ programme. Mobility activities must be assigned to at least one of these goals:

  • Democracy education & political education
  • Environment & sustainability – both as part of the educational programme and as a
    value practised in-house
  • Human resources management / individualisation of employees
