The 2022 performance report of the ARGE BHÖ shows a pleasing upward trend in the figures. In 2022, the members of ARGE BHÖ held a total of 13,507 events. This represents an increase of 51% compared to the previous year. The number of teaching units also increased by 36%, with a total of 134,697 teaching units held. Attendance rose by 61% – the member houses recording a total of 279,129 participants.

Erich Wagner-Walser and Gaby Filzmoser are pleased to present the annual report to Doris Wyskitensky and Jeremias Stadlmair from the Ministry of Education.

The 2022 Performance Report of the ARGE BHÖ summarizes the achievements of the ARGE BHÖ in one report. Despite the challenges of the tough Corona years, there is now a slight upward trend in the numbers again.

Events

The number of events has returned to "pre-Corona levels" and increased by 51%. A total of 13,507 events were held. There was obviously a particular need in the area of "Society, Politics, Science", which accounts for 30% of the total events. In second place is "Art and Creativity" with 19%, followed by "Life Orientation" with 14%.

Teaching units

The number of teaching units (TU) increased again in parallel with the number of events, but "only" by 36%. A total of 134,697 teaching units were completed. It seems that especially in the case of longer events (more than 4 units) the number of units per event has rather decreased, as the number of participants in this category has increased.

Attendances

Participations in educational events increased by an impressive 61% in 2022. A total of 279,129 participants attended Bildungshaus events. The increase in attendance is similar for both short and long events, at about 60%. Most participants (30%) attended events in the area of "Art and Creativity".

Overnight stays

The number of overnight stays has increased impressively by 65% and now stands at 111,213. Particularly noteworthy is the increase in guest courses, especially international guest courses, which have increased by an astonishing 66% and 133% respectively.

Employees

After the pandemic, the number of staff in the Bildungshäuser has slightly increased again. In 2022, a total of 467 people were employed, with nearly half working part-time. Particularly noteworthy is the increase in the number of pedagogical planners, which reached an all-time high of 81 employees.

Internal seminars of ARGE BHÖ

7 out of 10 education events planned by ARGE BHÖ were successfully carried out. A total of 84 employees from the member houses participated in the seminars of ARGE BHÖ, which results in a participation rate of 18% out of a total number of employees of 467 persons.

"The results of the performance report 2022 of the ARGE BHÖ are very pleasing and show that the Bildungshäuser are active even in difficult times and make their contribution to further education", says Gaby Filzmoser, Managing Director of the ARGE BHÖ.
