Bildungshaus Sankt Magdalena

Sankt Magdalena is located on a hill in the Urfahr district of Linz and therefore offers a sweeping view over the city of Linz and the Alpine foothills.

Thanks to its elevated location on the outskirts of the city, it offers both proximity to the conurbation and good transport links as well as peace and quiet and relaxation in the countryside. Sankt Magdalena was opened in 1976 and will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2026. As a renowned Upper Austrian educational centre, it welcomes guests from Upper Austria and beyond to conferences, seminars, workshops and congresses.

13 daylight-flooded seminar rooms of various sizes are available for team meetings and discussions as well as for large lectures for up to 290 people. The in-house course programme offers events in the areas of personal development, health and creativity, as well as readings and cultural events. 

Enjoyment and all-round well-being
are an important part of a successful seminar. A comprehensive culinary offering is therefore available for conference guests: Organic coffee and tea, a fruit basket and regional specialities are available at central break tables.

The adjoining hotel is not only open to seminar guests, but also to city and business travellers. Sankt Magdalena has been awarded the seal of approval for adult education and ISO 9001 certification, as well as the seal of approval for workplace health promotion and the Austrian Ecolabel. Around 30 employees look after the well-being of the guests, including in the in-house kitchen and restaurant. The restaurant has been completely renovated and, with its modern and cosy ambience, is also popular for company and birthday parties.
 

Sankt Magdalena is an established conference location and seminar organiser for well-known large companies, firms and organisations in Upper Austria, but also for numerous companies beyond the borders of the province.

As an adult education centre, Sankt Magdalena is particularly important for the population of Linz and the surrounding area: 
as a place to meet, exchange ideas and for general adult education as a valuable contribution to personal development and mental well-being.
