Info

The Steiermarkhof is the educational, conference and cultural centre of the Styrian Chamber of Agriculture and sees itself as a learning and creative institution. We are an open educational centre for all people and see ourselves as an interface between urban and rural areas. The Steiermarkhof is a place where personalities have been meeting since 1951, it accompanies people in the change and development of society.

With our educational magazine, we promote people's awareness of sustainable thinking and action. We recognise the uniqueness of the individual, regardless of culture, skin colour, religion or political views, and support people in their development to take responsibility for shaping their own lives.

Education at the Steiermarkhof
‘Education moves’ is our unmistakable motto. The educational programme at the Steiermarkhof focuses on quality in its formal implementation. Content-related issues, current relevance and critical topics are important factors in the creation of the programme. We are in close contact with the speakers during the planning stage. The aim of our educational magazine is not only to provide information about various educational programmes from the four focal points, but also to create a discussion of the content with specialist articles.

‘On the effectiveness of education, finding the answers to life’ (Johann Baumgartner)

Education works like a medicine that is needed to be human in the first place! Education works - and on many different levels. First and foremost, it affects you. Education is the key to personal development and at the same time has a significant influence on the future of a society. However, education also has an important socialising and life-long role to play. In addition, adult education at the Steiermarkhof makes an important contribution to the development of democracy and integration through art and culture.

However, education also always aims to expand the scope for action in order to better enable self-determined behaviour.
As a result, we need an education system that gives people the skills to continuously develop themselves further.

At the heart of our educational work are four key areas:
- Nutrition & Health
- Creative design
- Personality & Literature and
- Art & Culture

Our educational programmes are characterised by high quality and the best possible price-performance ratio.
