FAST Pichl

The Pichl Forestry Training Centre is a training centre of the Styrian Chamber of Agriculture with a focus on training and further education relating to forests and nature.

More than 200 courses and events with more than 3,500 visitors take advantage of the wide range of further education programmes on offer each year. In addition, online further education and training courses are organised with around 4,000 visitors. New knowledge is gained through various international and national projects, which can be passed on to course and seminar participants. In addition to its course activities, the centre is also open to private individuals and companies to hold their personal celebrations and in-house training courses.

The art and garden exhibition, which attracts thousands of visitors, and the Christmas market have become legendary. 19 employees design and shape the varied educational programme and feel responsible for the well-being of the guests. In 2007, FAST Pichl was the first forestry training institution to introduce quality management in accordance with ISO 9001:2015.

Challenging climatic conditions, technological, social and economic changes require new approaches and tools.

The forest as an economic, experiential and recreational space is becoming a central resource for our society. This is also changing the way we deal with the forest and the way we view the forest and its management. New topics, opportunities and challenges arise in this interaction. As an educational centre, we address these issues, opportunities and challenges and help shape the future of society and forestry together with our partners.
 

We combine people, learning and experience spaces in nature, digital learning locations and the forest seminar room. In this way, we create unique personal learning experiences.

FAST Pichl sees itself as an educational centre where knowledge is built up, bundled and imparted. We promote the exchange of different industries and interests and invite people to enter into dialogue with each other.

In this way, we develop our knowledge and areas of expertise and identify new topics and educational content. We prepare this content in the form of innovative educational formats. For us, education means learning with heart, brain and hand.

Initial and further training in all aspects of the forest: training as forestry specialists and master forestry workers in the second educational path, practical forestry work, silviculture/forest protection/forestry technology, hunting/ecology, bioenergy, economics/law/management, forest/hunting education, timber construction
