Bildungshaus Schloss Krastowitz

Bildungshaus Schloss Krastowitz can now look back on almost 70 years of tradition in the field of education. As early as 1957, the Carinthian Chamber of Agriculture, as the supporting organisation, began holding courses at the castle. In the early years, it was mainly training courses for farmers and rural youth, but over the years more and more guest organisers became aware of the idyllic castle on the outskirts of Klagenfurt.

Today, Bildungshaus Schloss Krastowitz has long since established itself as a modern seminar centre in Austria. The location in the middle of the picturesque castle gardens with adjoining pond is particularly appreciated by guests. The peaceful atmosphere offers ideal conditions for holding seminars and the necessary relaxation and recreation afterwards.

The culinary well-being of our guests is a major concern for us and is of great importance for the success of an event. That is why the team in our castle kitchen spoils guests with delicacies of a high culinary standard.

Particular emphasis is placed on the regionality and seasonality of the products used. The ‘Genuss-Kulinarium Krastowitz’ certification was awarded back in 2008, in 2012 the education centre was awarded the AMA Gastro Seal, in 2015 Schloss Krastowitz was the first education centre in Carinthia to receive the ‘Genuss Wirt Kärnten’ award and since 2020 the education centre has also been a member of the ‘Kärntner Wirtshaus Kultur’ association

Bildungshaus Schloss Krastowitz offers institutions and organisations the opportunity to hold courses and seminars in the house, while the education officer of the Bildungshaus also creates its own education programme every year as an independent educational organisation of the Carinthian Chamber of Agriculture.

In recent years, there has been a real surge in the area of ‘People and Nature’ in particular
A fact that naturally also pleases the Carinthian Chamber of Agriculture as the supporting organisation. Events on the subject of wild herbs and green cosmetics are particularly noteworthy. These range from 3-hour lectures and 2-day workshops to certificate courses lasting over a year, which are organised in cooperation with the Carinthian Rural Training Institute (LFI) and funded by the Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research.

The content of all these events is aimed at recognising the diversity of the native plant world, understanding biological relationships, preserving our nature, rediscovering and passing on the traditional knowledge of herbalism and being sensitive to nature as the basis of our lives, our nutrition and our well-being.

The Bildungshaus Schloss Krastowitz sees itself as an agricultural competence centre in Carinthia. It brings together the Carinthian Rural Youth, the Agricultural and Forestry Apprenticeship and Specialist Training Centre, the Carinthian Rural Training Institute (LFI) and the Farmers' Training Centre under one roof.

We accompany our course participants 
from their youth, through their working life as an active farmer and into retirement. And we have the right training and further education programmes for every stage of life. Krastowitz is an integral part of every farmer's life.
